Anu Pathria
has pioneered several path breaking Artificial Intelligence
based research in the areas of predictive modeling,
fraud detection and information extraction. A couple
of his creations have been widely deployed in the corporate
world. Anu was an inventor of the Falcon credit card
fraud detection system, which currently monitors over
80% of all credit card transactions in the U.S. Anu
was the primary architect of Healthcare and Insurance
systems that are deployed at Liberty Mutual Insurance,
as well as at various state Medicaid and federal Medicare
agencies.
Currently, Anu is a Vice President at Fair Isaac Corporation,
managing a division that provides analytic solutions
to the Healthcare and Insurance industries, including
products focused on fraud and abuse detection in group
health, claimant fraud and abuse detection in workers’
compensation, and reserving in insurance. He has authored
7 patents including 2 as lead in this space.
Prior to Fair Isaac, Anu was a the co-founder and VP
of Engineering of Burning Glass which developed analytics
based software products, whose functionality combined
statistical natural language processing with predictive
modeling, to improve efficiencies in the employment
markets. Anu has 4 patents to his credit in this space.
Previously, Anu spent 9 years at HNC Software where
he led modeling teams in several divisions servicing
various markets, focusing on the development and launch
of new predictive modeling based software products including
automated real-estate appraisal, credit-risk scoring,
and credit-card fraud detection. He was the lead modeler
and has close to a dozen other technology and systems
patents at HNC.
Anu is a PhD in Operations Research from University
of California, Berkeley and MS in Computer Science from
University of California, Berkeley. He did his BS in
Mathematics & Computer Science (double honors) from
University of Waterloo. Canada.
